Enrolling in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s program was both the most natural step for me to take, and potentially the most entirely unnecessary. I went to school for environmental studies, hold my Master’s in water resource management, and have a stable career in a field I love. I wasn’t exactly in need of a major career shift – I was in fact quite happy in mine.
But I wanted more. I wanted to learn, I wanted to help people, I wanted to expand and grow as a person.
To pull it back a bit: I have always been incredibly passionate and interested in health and wellness. Growing up, my mom had Chron’s disease and I dealt with IBS on and off for years. Diet was something I was highly aware of as tool to both manage symptoms and to nurture healing in the body. In high school I went vegetarian for a mixture of ethical, environmental, and health reasons. Since then I have fluctuated between some variation of vegetarian to vegan to pescatarian.
Through the choice to be vegetarian, I learned more about food production and nutrition. I became more aware of the impact food had on my body and more in tune with the mind body connection. This initial awareness of diet grew and expanded over the years to encompass all things wellness related. I devoured books and blogs on nutrition and health recipes, tried every kind of fitness class I could find, learned about stress management, and took my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training.
So while my full time career was stable and fulfilling, there was a whole other side of me that was yearning for more. I wanted to learn more, be more, do more, help more. What I had learned already about nutrition, fitness, and yoga and assimilated it into my own life had already radically changed my life.
It had helped me shift my perspective on food from restrictive to nourishing;
It had helped me subside IBS symptoms in my own body;
It had helped me address extremely anemic conditions through diet,
I wanted to bring this knowledge to other people and to help them on their path to a vibrant and healthy life. When I came across the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), I knew it was the right fit.
IIN’s health coaching program is a year-long online course specifically designed for people who are passionate about health and wellness and who want to have a meaningful career. Because the classes are completely online, it gives you the flexibility to complete the work on your own time in a way that fits best for your schedule. The curriculum covers over 150 dietary theories, provides coaching training, and prepares you with real world business training.
Get a sneak peak into what you’ll be learning about in the months to come. Hint: this includes bio-individuality, deconstructing cravings, inflammation, digestion, clean eating, primary food, crowding out, and macro-nutrients.
Through IIN, you are learning from the best of the best. Some of their visiting teachers include: Joshua Rosenthal, Mark Hyman, MD, Andrew Weil, MD, Walter Willet, MD, Gabrielle Bernstein, Marion Nestle, PhD, MPH, Manisha Thakor, CFA, and Arianna Huffington.
What I love most about IIN is that food is seen only as a secondary source of nutrition, your primary food is everything else that nourishes your life: relationships, career, spirituality, and fitness. IIN takes a holistic look at health and lifestyle to comprehensively look at how we can fully nourish all areas of our lives to be our best selves physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
I cannot speak highly enough of this program, whether you are looking to become a health coach, to heal your body, to improve your health and the health of your loved ones, to change your career path, or simply to expand your learning – this is the program for you. If you’re interested in this program but have a few more questions, don’t hesitate to reach out! I’d love to answer any questions and help you decide if this is the right fit for you.
As an ambassador for this program, I am able to answer questions related to the program and able to offer an exclusive discount to new students who use my name, “Julia Chase”, at both registration and enrollment. By using my discount you will not only save some major money, but IIN will also send you the Ambassador Love Package. This is a seriously AMAZING deal and one I took advantage of when I enrolled.
